Who can enter?

Anyone who has something to say. Even if you write and don't perform - you can team up with someone who does. We encourage teams of writers, actors and performance poets.

Why is it called Xtreme Spoken word?

If you make it through to the auditions and mini showdowns, you will have just 2 minutes to impress the judges, traditionally 3 minutes in the usual slam competition.

How do increase my online votes?

Getting far in this competition will not just depend on how talented you are as an artiste; it will depend on how good you are at promoting yourself. The Manorlogz website will regularly feature a contestant on the main page but you will also be able to share your media with the online community via facebook, twitter etc. In addition to this you can also direct people to your profile page through your own external promotional campaigns aimed at increasing your online votes. The 4Front TV team are always interested in how you guys are promoting yourselves and will be on hand to document some of your campaigns for our TV show.

How do I get picked for the auditions - what are the judges and researchers looking for?

You will be marked on originality, creativity, substance delivery, personality and the ability to appeal to poetry enthusiasts and wider audiences.

Why should I take part in this competition?

Manorlogz is the biggest Slam event in the UK. You will be competing with some of the most talented lyricist in the country and showcasing your talents to a national and international audience. The winner of this competition will held in high regards in the spoken word community. In addition to the prizes, the winner will get media exposure, a special feature in our newsletter and become a resident member of the Manorlogz TV show.

I want to take part but I have not got a video camera to film myself performing.

We are not expecting high budget video entries but we expect your content to be clear and, most importantly, creative. Whether you're using phones, webcams, camcorders just make sure you're on point.The online audience will be judging you on content style, and delivery so make sure you accentuate your appeal in whatever way you can. Ultimately you need to be able to perform the piece you have uploaded in front of a live audience.

4Front TV will he having special open days where we will film some of your videos at our London studio. Places are limited so make sure you book quickly when we announce the dates on the Manorlogz site.

I am having trouble uploading a video, what should I do?

Make sure your video is under 200MB and is in one of the following formats: wmv, mov, mpg, avi, flv, mpeg, mp4, 3gp, rm, asf. If you're still having trouble, please get in touch.
