Elzhi ‘It Aint Hard To Tell’
Coming from one of the most criminally underrated, lyrical magicians in the history of rap (yes, the melodramatic description IS necessary) here is Elzhi’s (former member of Slum Village) version of Nas’s ‘Aint Hard To Tell’. This track is off his Elmatic LP (2011) , a respectful remake of Nas’s classic Illmatic. History. Culture. Hip Hop. Beatism. Enjoy. Also purchase/download Elmatic via http://www.elzhi.com which features a collab with another personal favourite, producer 14KT on ‘Verbal Intercourse Part 2′. Download HIS most recent Instrumental Album here: 14 Killa Tape, if you want a musical experience of beats that will take you to and beyond dimensions *Manorlogz are providing you with some gems! Take heed!*
Ghost Poet: ‘Liiines’
This name may and should ring a bell with those who allegedly follow Manorlogz! Remember our Ghost Poet featuring Kano video? Well here he is, further in his career but just as lyrical, standalone and talented as always.
Amen Noir featuring Nyarai: ’4 Mumma’
A heartfelt ode to Mother’s, Grandmother’s and appreciation to Women worldwide. 4Mumma includes acoustic, reggae influences with soulful vocals and Spoken Word.
After a hiatus of editing and many endeavours at the Manorlogz HQ we have returned! This months Throwback from Rack not only was a Number #1 hit, but also did the UK proud. The first few seconds of the bassy, old school R & B, two-step inducing track are crucial and STILL are as distinct as they were 15 years ago. Of course, on addition to the renowned adlib’s that basically gave the song its timeless status (But it does, does, does!)
Artist: Mark Morrison Title: Return Of The Mack Year: 1996
The initial vocal within the intro? The pimp- reminiscent walk at 1:04? The hairstyle? It all screams CLASSIC. And if you are not throwing your hands and projectiles in the air, you are certified soulless.
Also check out the parody dedicated to the song by genius duo of US Producer Zo! and rapper/singer Phonte. Hilarious!
They were on point with every single detail, don’t delude yourself.
The time has come. A few videos from the Manorlogz Open Day have leaked! Be prepared for mental, psychological and even physical *Cough* *Leroy Rose* stimulation in some cases. Below, we have a heartfelt, engaging piece on Fatima Al Matar’s personification of her ‘Face’, a socially intellectual uprising from David Lee Morgan, a feisty, funny, informative word of wisdom from Ruel G Veli Rowe’s message to baby mothers and an unadulterated, explicit offering from Leroy Rose. Enjoy!
Watch this space and keep your eyes and ears peeled over the next week….
Episode One of The Manorlogz Cipher 2011, which is airing TOMORROW, 22nd July at 8pm will include the following… (We’ll let their visuals and vibes speak for themselves… *sits listening impatient with anticipation*)
